Caring for People Where They Are

Our vision for the congress in Tromsø 2011 is inspired by life and nature in northern and rural areas. It raises a double challenge for all doctors in general practice: To care for people where they are living, and where they are in their lives. The congress programme will address this from scientific, theoretic, educational and clinical practice perspectives. Among topics to be focused through key note speeches, symposia and workshops are:

• Body and story of life
• Palliative care in the community setting
• Education of medical students and GPs where the patients are
